Coronavirus

Coronaviruses are single stranded, positive sense RNA viruses. The first human coronavirus was discovered in the 1965, with an additional six identified since. Coronaviruses infect the upper and lower respiratory tract and cause a range of symptoms from mild to severe. HCoV-229E and HCoV-OC43 are circulating strains that causes the common cold, while NL63, HKU1, MERS-CoV, SARS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2 (2019-nCoV) cause more severe disease. MERS-CoV, SARS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2 have been responsible for lethal outbreaks, with SARS-CoV-2 causing the COVID-19 pandemic, claiming over 4.5 million deaths worldwide¹.

In support of international efforts to develop therapeutics against the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV2), we are proud to offer a collection of coronavirus assays and reagents. Our pseudotype neutralization assays for the SARS-CoV, MERS-CoV SARS CoV-2, and a panel of SARS-CoV-2 variant of concern (VOC) are well-characterized methods for antiviral testing. The variants of concern include Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, and Epsilon. We also have coronavirus (SARS-CoV, SARS-CoV-2, and MERS-CoV) spike protein, receptor binding domain (RBD) and ACE2 for sale through our reagent program.
